Venus collection Heart M 08

This handcrafted ceramic heart is made using a press mold technique and carefully finished by hand to achieve a smooth, refined texture. Three layers of terra sigillata are applied, giving the heart a soft, natural sheen.

Each heart is bisque fired and then Saggar fired in a Raku kiln. The stunning colors and patterns emerge from organic materials like salt, sugar, and leaves during the firing process. No glaze is used, allowing the natural beauty of the firing to shine through.

Craftsmanship: I oversee every step of the process, from design and clay selection to the Saggar firing in the Raku kiln. Each heart is made by hand in my studio in Urbino, Italy, and is stamped with the Di Luca Ceramics mark to ensure authenticity.

Care Instructions: These pieces are not frost-proof and should not be displayed outdoors. To clean, gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth. For added shine, use a liquid wax to maintain the finish and prevent humidity stains. The ceramics are low-fired, so they are delicate and not watertight, making them unsuitable for holding liquids or food.
