The course with Denis at the Escola de ceramica de La Bisbal was very educational. With good knowledge of glazes and techniques, which he willingly showed and shared, I achieved new results in rakú firing. So much fun!

Lovely and very educational experience, the workshop was very well organized so that the time was always invested in different stages of the ceramic process, ending with the spectacular raku firing. Denis was an excellent teacher, his workshop spacious and located in a beautiful and very scenic place near Urbino. Even the home prepared lunches were great!! already planning to go for a different topic next year.. thanks Denis!!

I had an amazing week at La Céramique in Cordes-sur-ciel where Denis Di Luca learn me a lot about Raku. From A to Z and down to the smallest details Denis gave how to work to achieve 3 different types of Raku : Naked Raku, Reduction or Oxidation effect. He was always ready to give additional advice or help, such as small but very important tips when turning or raising your pots. To understand the Raku properly, we first worked with homemade test plates and only afterwards with your own turned pots ( or build-up ) . During the process of ´Raku ´ firing itself, depending on the choice, we saw how and what to pay attention to. It was always exciting to discover the obtained result after ´polishing´ my pots. It was a super nice group that followed this workshop and besides the ´Raku ´, new friendships were made. Thanks Denis !

I just completed a 2 day introductory Naked Raku course with Denis. It was a technique I've been desperate to try. The course was well paced with a variety of tasks to help us digest the information. From the basics of preparing a pot to the more complicated mixing of resistance slips and glazes..... and then to firing and discussing the results..... The second day we got to hone our designs and fire a few more pots... with further instruction I'm the more detailed parts of naked Raku... Denis shared his knowledge with enthusiasm and a playfulness that made it engaging and fun..... If you get the chance to study with Di Luca Ceramics take it... Thank you.

Denis created a beautiful memorial saggar Raku vase for my mom using handwritten notes on hand pressed paper from her memorial as combustibles in the firing. He made me a special video of the process and the vase turned out beautifully.

I had an amazing experience at Denis’ saggar raku course in Brighton. I learnt loads of useful technical information - distilled down into bite-sized, practical tips and advice. Plus, it’s just super fun getting together with fellow potters to explore the alchemy of raku with someone so experienced. Denis has a great love for the process and is a joy to learn from. If you have a rare chance to get on one of his courses - grab it!

I have spent 3 lovely days in Denis’ studio, practicing Raku and Naked Raku techniques. Denis is a great teacher, he shares all his tips and tricks so there is absolutely zero failures in the effects. Even though I thought I knew the techniques, I learned A LOT! It was lovely spent time, as besides teaching skills, Denis also has great and open minded personality. And boy oh boy, the quality of home made food for lunch prepared by his mum… AMAZING! I am coming back soon for another workshop, that should say a lot :) THANK YOU, Denis!
